Toby Mitchell

I'm Toby, 2D artist based in the UK. I specialise in character design, illustration and background art. I am currently looking for work in illustration, concept art, animation or TTRPG art - or anything else you may need 2D art for! I am also available for private commissions.In 2023 I graduated with a first class degree in Animation from the University of Staffordshire.My work has been published in over 30 independent zines, both physical and digital, charity and for-profit, covering a variety of subjects from Greek mythology to original fantasy characters.

Backgrounds from my final year film, Lune & Soleil.
I was one of five members of the team and I was responsible for creating all 60 background illustrations over the course of 7 weeks.
These are a small selection of the backgrounds I created.

A collection of studies from 2023. I found some nice, quiet spots to sit while playing Elden Ring and painted a pseudo-plein air study of the surrounding area.
